Tauba

Video of Pakistani TV reporter Qaiser Khokhar has gone viral on social media after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surprise visit to the neighbouring country. It is the hilarious way in which Qaiser Khokhar expresses his anguish for allowing Modi and his entourage consisting of 120 people to enter Pakistan without visa.

The C-42 channel reporter keeps repeating the phrase Tauba Tauba holding both his ears several times while expressing his disapproval of Modi’s unplanned visit to Pakistan. And he does it on-air in his piece-to-camera even as his colleagues seem to be laughing in the background.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a stopover in Lahore on December 25 on way back from his visit to neighbouring Afghanistan. Modi accompanied by a few officials visited Nawaz Sharif’s residence in Lahore and wished him on his birthday while most of the Indian officials stayed at the airport. The visit, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in over a decade, took media by surprise.

Yasin Malik’s wife dresses to kill

“I can easier teach twenty what were good to be done, than be one of the twenty to follow mine own teaching.” This adage from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice befits the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasin Malik.

Kashmiri-militant-turned-separatist leader Yasin Malik would generally advocate observance of Islamic dress code for Indian Muslim women. Yet, he does not like this to be kowtowed by his wife Mushaal Hussein Mullick. This has turned out to be so from a photograph that has gone viral on social media.

Mushaal Hussein Mullick is seen sporting a trendy outfit in the photograph as she poses with her husband Yasin Malik to the benefit of paparazzi. No burqa, or head-to-toe veil, or any scarf to cover the head as per Islamic dress norm. It is not known when the photograph was taken but the locale looks like to be not-a-so-swanky Indian airport.

The photograph betrays hypocrisy that the separatist leader may espouse. And, thus, it has kicked off quite a commotion on social media from different quarters. Some people have pointed out how leaders who are proponents of Madarsa education themselves do not send their kids to study there. Yet, these self-styled leaders of the Muslim community oppose Madarsa modernization.

The snap uploaded on Facebook by one Naveen Kumar has already been shared over 12,000 times.

Pakistan-born Mushaal Hussein Mullick comes from well-heeled and affluent family. She likes to dote over Phil Collins and Shakira. The Telegraph in an article described her as a glamorous London School of Economics student who had penchant for painting erotic, bare-bodied and nude beauties.

Below are some of Mushaal’s paintings with her picture in the middle.

Yasin Malik reportedly first saw Mushaal at a conference in Pakistan. This turned out to be love at first sight. And they tied the knot in February 2009.

GurdaspurAt least eight people were killed after a group of terrorists opened fire at a public bus and stormed a police station Punjab’s Dinanagar town in the frontier district of Gurdaspur today morning.

The militants also targeted another part of the complex where the families of police personnel reside. A Superintendent of Police, two home guards and three civilians are among those killed in the attack.

The Hindu quoted a source saying that intelligence inputs on July 24 had warned that 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) terrorists headed by commander Maqbool Khan are trying to infiltrate from Dudhiniyal, Jammu to carry out attacks in India on August 15 or before with the help of Pakistan Rangers and that Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is coordinating the efforts.

However, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that he had ordered increased security on the border with Pakistan, although it is unclear who is responsible for the attack.

He also tweeted:

The MHA is monitoring the situation in Gurudaspur and Punjab. I am confident that the situation will be soon brought in control.

— Rajnath Singh (@BJPRajnathSingh) July 27, 2015

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, on the contrary, appeared to blame the Union government. He said “The terrorists didn’t come from Punjab, they came from  the border. It’s the Centre’s job to seal the border.”

Meanwhile, five live bombs were reportedly recovered from nearby railway tracks in Gurdaspur.

Reham Khan, wife of Imran Khan, changes college name after ‘fake’ degree row

Reham Khan

Cricket legend and Pakistan politician Imran Khan’s secret marriage with former BBC presenter Reham Khan had raised a lot of eyebrows. Now it appears that Reham’s journalism degree is not genuine, embroiling the spouse of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief into yet another controversy.

Reham Khan’s CV on her website mentions she earned a postgraduate course ‘in Broadcast Journalism at North Lindsay [sic] College’, in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. Reham reportedly got her job as a reporter on the BBC regional show South Today after the course.

College never offered journalism course

However, according to British media outlet Daily Mail, North Lindsey has never offered such a course. In fact, Daily Mail quoted officials of the college as saying that the institute does not teach journalism at all. Not only this, the media outlet claims it found no record of any student bearing the name or age of Reham Khan enrolled in the college.

Imran Khan defends wife

Imran Khan came out in defense of his new wife and denied the allegations. The PTI chief told Pakistani channel Duniya News that if Reham’s degree was forged then she would have been fired by her former employer British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Reham Khan changes college name

After the ‘fake degree’ controversy, Reham Khan has changed the name of her graduating college on her official website.  Reham’s website now mentions she studied Broadcast media at Grimsby Institute, Northeast Lincolnshire, and not North Lindsey College.

Reham in controversies – VIDEO

While Imran and Reham Khan may be mulling suing Daily Mail, this is not the first time that the former BBC weathergirl has been at the centre of a controversy. Earlier, footages of the TV journalist touching and cooking pork had kicked a storm in conservative Pakistan. Pictures of Reham Khan in revealing clothes and a video of her tango dance had also earned her criticism in the country. She was engaged in a bit war of words with her former husband over her claim to a TV channel that she was a victim of domestic violence.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan teaser

The much-awaited trailer of Salman Khan starrer ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has been released. The superstar himself tweeted the link to the video after a series of ‘reminders by fans’.  The Bollywood actor who has been very active on Twitter of late had asked his fans to remind him around 4pm today to tweet the link to the video.

So the loyal fans of Salman Khan reminded the actor and he diligently ‘uploaded’ the promo of the film after a lot of dillydallying in his unique style. First Salman said ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ promo was not ready, then he regretted not having a Wi-Fi or 3G connection, and then he asked for 30 seconds – the time the actor takes to walk back home from may be work.

Finally, the promo was uploaded and it was an instant hit with 2.41 lakh views, over 16.1K Likes and over 2.7K comments till 11.20 pm on June 18. The hashtag #BajrangiBhaijaanTrailerDay had been trending in India on Thursday.

Watch: Pakistani Maulana blames jeans wearing women for earthquakes

June 2, 2015 by Priya Rana Leave a Comment

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

downloadIn a bizarre statement, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has allegedly stated that women wearing jeans are responsible for the earthquakes occurring around the world. Not only that, the religious leader asked Pakistani armed forces to launch a military operation against such women across the country.

Rehman did not stop here and also allegedly blamed ‘immodest women’ for other natural disasters, Baluchistan crisis, lack of energy supply and the deteriorating security situation in Pakistan.

Taliban brothers would not be attacking Pakistan, if these women are wrapped in sacks and kept inside homes and if the Shariah law was in place, the religious leader openly suggested.

With such a weird statement, the JUI-F can be said to giving a tough competition to India’s Khap Panchayats who are also known for issuing such dictates against women.
