NEW DELHI: Delhi Police claim to have busted the murder mystery of 56-year-old Daljeet Singh with the arrest of his daughter and two of her boyfriends who allegedly killed him in cold blood in Khayala area of west Delhi.
23-year-old Kulvinder Kaur alias Nikki killed her father on the intervening night of April 29 and 30 with the help of Prince Sandhu (22) and Ashok Sharma alias Manish alias Goku (23). Kaur confessed to committing crime because she was being repeatedly sexually assaulted by her father after the death of her mother three years ago, said Ranvir Singh, additional commissioner of police, West District.
Daljeet’s unrecognizable body, which was in a very bad state, was found near a canal in Khayala by police on the morning of April 30. It took two days to identify the body.
Kuldeep and her male friends were arrested separately within a week of the crime.
During interrogation, police said, Kulvinder revealed that she had opened the door of her house on the fateful night to allow Sandhu and Sharma to get in. After entering the house, they overpowered Daljeet who was sleeping with Kulvinder’s help and then attacked him with a cricket wicket. Making it more gruesome, they opened Daljeet’s chest with a broken sharp-edged glass and took out the pacemaker to ensure his death.
Police have recovered the cricket wicket (weapon of offence), blood-stained clothes, cable wire, mobile phones of the deceased and the accused and the white Innova car having blood stains which was used to dump the body.
